Questions people ask first
Do you take insurance?
No. A weekly session is $220, the first session is $280, and a full day is $1,400. I’ll give you a receipt if you want to file it yourself.
What if my partner won’t come?
Come to the first session anyway. I’ll tell you whether we can start with one of you, or whether I need both of you before we go further.
Is this for an emergency?
No. If you or your partner is in danger, call 911. If you are in crisis, call or text 988. Please don’t use the contact form for that.
What is Relational Life Therapy?
It’s Terry Real’s way of working with couples. I speak plainly. We look at the pattern you get stuck in, and we practice a different way of talking before you leave.
How soon can we start?
Usually within three weeks. If I’m booked, I’ll tell you.
Can we meet on video?
Yes, if you live in New York. I’m licensed here and I don’t see people in other states. The full day is only in person, in Hudson.
What should we leave out of the message?
Don’t include medical details or a long account of a fight. Your names, how to reach you, and whether you want to meet in Hudson or on video are enough to start.
